End Of The Month Randomness [October]

Image
Happy Halloween!!! I started this End of The Month Randomness series last month for September and I had so much fun putting that post together that I have been looking forward to doing it again this month.  The main reason for this post is that it encourages me to clean up my picture files at the end of the month. I happen to take a ton of pictures every month, and so as to not take up too much of my computer's storage, I like to regularly go through all of my pictures, keep the best ones and delete all the rest. As I'm going through my pictures, I realize that there's a ton of stuff that I never posted about. So today, I'm going to share with you some behind the scenes, project fails, and just random bits of my life moments. Let's start with these adorable little pumpkins that my husband's secretary grew and gave to us. I placed them in a tray in the center of our table. The most exciting thing that happened this month, was celebrating my son, Jaxon's 9t

My Favorite Space in our Home

Image
I know I say this a lot, but our home office/sunroom really is my favorite space in our home. This room gets a lot of sunlight and is a really calm and peaceful space to be in. I've recently changed a few things around in this room and so I thought I'd share those changes, along with a tour of the rest of the room with you here today. Our office/sunroom is located right off of the living room through a set of old french doors. The first thing you see when entering the room is a daybed.  This daybed is actually a twin size bed that once belong to my husband when he was a kid.  Adding a bunch of throw pillows to the bed is how I transformed it from a bed to a daybed. This is a great spot to relax, read a book, or take a nap. The first change I made to the room was that  I switched up the sheet that's on the bed. I like to give this daybed a whole new look by simply changing the sheets (or blanket) and pillows that are on the bed.  I'm sure you have seen this bell water fo

Halloween Entryway

On Friday the 13th my boys and I decorated for Halloween. Most of our decorations ended up in our entryway, and I have to say, I think it turned out pretty cute and so I wanted to share it with you today. Now when I say my boys and I, I really just mean I decorated and my boys watched :) But that's not my fault.  I wanted them to have fun and decorate, but they just don't seem to enjoy it as much as I do. They did however, have a lot of fun pulling out the decorations from the bins and reminiscing over it all. But other than placing a few things around the house, they left the decorating up to me. Which is fine because then I could do my thing and create a fun, cohesive display. I like to keep the decoration contained in one area and not scattered all over the house, which I think always tends to makes the house feel too cluttered and a bit chaotic.   So all of our decorations are just ones we've collected over the years, mostly purchased at the Dollar Tree. Nothing is new

See Our Lucky Green Kitchen Cabinets!!

Image
I bet you already knew that my kitchen wouldn't stay all-white for long, Right? Ha! My kitchen has gone through quite a few makeovers over the years. Just see for yourself: The last time I shared my kitchen, which is the top picture on the left, is when I had just painted the walls white. I painted the walls white because after looking at my Pinterest Kitchen Board one day, I noticed that almost all of my pins were of  all-white kitchens, and so I figured if I was so inspired by white kitchens then I needed an all white kitchen too. I liked my kitchen all white, at least for a while, but then I was starting to crave color again :)  So I decided to paint just the lower cabinets, and actually, I had a few different reasons for wanting to paint my cabinets;  1. white cabinets get super dirty, at least at my house, and I was getting tired of constantly wiping  them down. I knew that painting them a darker color would camouflage the dirt better.  2. My decorating style seems to be evo
