Bring a little JOY to your Christmas decorating! Cute Pillow Alert!

Image
I have the most darling pillows to share with you today! My sweet sister has the cutest Etsy shop, Berkley Ink,  where she is selling these adorable JOY pillow covers that she designed and made. And because she is the best sister in the world, she sent me a set of black ones to go with my holiday decorating this year.  These pillow covers also come in red or white, which I'll share for you at the end of this post. I just love the big statement these pillows make. I placed my pillows on the old white bench in our entryway.  This is the view you get when entering our home and I think it feels cheerful and welcoming. These pillow covers are made with a sturdy canvas cotton and are comfortable to have as throw pillows on a sofa.  I'm all about having a comfortable home, so I will not buy any pillows that are purely decorative and not cozy.   Also, most of all of my pillows have a down insert.  Down is the fluffiest and makes your pillows sit pretty. So if you purchase a set of the

Macrame Christmas Ornaments + 11 Other Fabulous DIY Ornaments

Image
Every year I like to come up with a new look for our Christmas tree. I do so by mixing up the ornaments that I already own, along with creating some new ones. This year, I thought it would be fun to create some macrame-inspired ornaments.  Also, this is an exciting day, because I'm joining 11 other bloggers for a really fun DIY Christmas Ornament blog hop! A big thanks to Krista, from The Happy Housie for putting it all together for us. You can find the links to all of the other fabulous ornaments at the end of this blog post. I think my Macrame ornaments turned out so adorable and they were really simple to make. Here's how I made them: First, I started off with some inexpensive metal bracelets. I used bracelets because that's what I had on hand.  Any type of large ring or hoop will work just fine.  (You can find some similar bracelets, HERE )  Next, I got some pretty, chunky, tweed yarn and cut strands to be about 16 inches long. I looped the yarn onto the bracelet. Firs

My Christmas Mantels over the Years.

The Mantel is one of my most favorite spots to decorate for Christmas.  Is it yours too?  The thought of Santa Clause coming down the chimney and out the fireplace is such a traditional story taught to us as children, and so there has always been something very magical about the fireplace at Christmas time for me. Today, for fun, I thought I'd share how I have decorated our mantel for Christmas in the past. Let's start with last years since this one still makes me smile. I called this my Evergreen Christmas Mantel.  You can view more of it HERE . Also, you can take last year's Christmas Home Tour again, HERE . I had lots of fun playing around with little trees, most of which had come from Target's dollar spot.  But what I think  was the funnest part about last years fireplace, was that this was the first time I decorated IN the fireplace. Before, this was always just a big black hole.  I really made the fireplace feel cozy by filling it with lots of logs and candles.

15 Favorite Christmas Decor from Hayneedle

Hayneedle is one of my favorite online stores.  They have such a large variety of furniture and home decor items.  I was recently browsing through their website and came across some really cute Christmas Decor. So today, I wanted to share some of my favorites because I think you will like them too. { *this post contains affiliated links } First of all, if you are looking for a new Christmas tree, Hayneedle has a ton to choose from. We really could use a new tree since ours has layers and layers of lights on it and only half of them work :)  This Natural Pine Christmas Tree is on my wish  list. These Jute storage bags would look cute around the tree holding presents. I love wreaths that look real and not like plastic. And I feel like this little Mixed Country Wreath has a realistic look to it and would be so pretty on our front door.  I love the idea of placing a Christmas tree in a bin or basket.  This Galvanized tree collar is really neat.  I have actually wanted to get a star fo
