After the long harsh winter we've had, I am so excited to welcome the spring season. I love spring and everything that spring has to offer, including the warmer sunny days and fresh blossoms. Really when you think about it, isn't it the flowers that makes spring so special? The tulips and daffodils popping up out of the dirt and the tiny little blossoms on the trees, that is what  comes to mind when I think about spring. In years past, when decorating our home for Christmas, I've kept our front porch rather simple: a wreath on the door, perhaps a small tree to the side, but that was it. I focused most of my attention on the inside of our home.   But this year, with the help of Balsam Hill ,  I thought I'd put a little more thought into the exterior of our home to provide a warm welcome for when friends and family stop by. THIS Noel sign could not have been a more perfect fit to go above our door. It has little white LED lights in it so it lights up and looks really festive at night. On each side of the door I have placed THESE frosted evergreen foliage into some large pots. The frosted snow and natural pinecones give them a beautiful and realistic winter forest look. These also have LED lights in them so they sparkle at night time. Today, I thought I'd share how to make this really simple, yet really beautiful wreath. You may have already seen it since I shared it last year on Ella Claire Here . I made it using a wire wreath frame and some paper heart doilies.  Even though I made this wreath as a Valentine decoration, it doesn't necessarily scream Valentines, and therefore it could be an everyday beautiful wall hanging. I love how soft and pretty it looks up on my mantle.  To make this wreath, here is what you will need: - 1 wire wreath frame. I picked this one up at Hobby Lobby for $3.99 - 24 paper heart doilies.  These came from the dollar store. - a cluster of faux decorative flowers (optional)  - stapler - hot glue gun The first thing you will need to do is accordion fold the paper doilies to give them that ruffled look.
