Anniversary T-Shirt Gift

Image
Last weekend My husband, Jake and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. I seriously can't believe it's been 15 years already. I'm so blessed to have found such an amazing guy to spend my life with.  He truly is perfect for me. Because being married for 15 years is kinda a big deal, I decided to create some memorable t-shirts for Jake and I to help celebrate this milestone of our lives :) I contacted my sister who owns a printing company,   Berkley Ink   and I told her my idea for the t-shirt design.  I wanted the shirts to look like a brand label and I wanted it to be something that we could wear any day without it being So obvious that it's an anniversary t-shirt.  I gave her a list of words and phases that I thought were fitting to Jake and I. I also provided her with our establish date, where we got married, and of course it had to have our initials and the number 15 on it.  This is what she came up with. Cool, right? Jake loved the gift! He jokingl...

Teacher Gift

Image
Happy May! My boys get out of school at the end of the month and I'm blown away because that is just weeks away!  Where does the time go?  My boys are pretty excited to get started on their summer vacation but they are also a bit sad to have to say goodbye to their teachers. They both have such wonderful teachers and so I have come up with a sweet little gift that they can give to them on the last day of school.  (This post was previously shared on  City Farmhouse )  I typed up a few sayings, printed them out and glued them to decorative paper.  I will share the printables at the end of this post so that you can use them too. I came up with the idea of using rulers as plant marker, which I thought was so appropriate for a teacher.  I hot glued a clothespin to the ruler so that it could hold the card.   I bought the ceramic pots at the dollar store.  They had lots of different colors to choose from but I thought these turquoise ones were ...

A few Favorite Birthday Gifts.

Image
I just celebrated my birthday at the beginning of the month. It was such an amazing day. It started off with a morning of gifts and love from my husband and boys, followed by a drive up the canyon to a hot springs swimming pool, which was definitely the highlight of my day.  It's a pretty good size outdoor pool with the warmest, purest water ever!  The pool has a metal roof and on this morning it started pouring down rain, so here I was, surround by loved ones, (we had the place to ourselves) and swimming my little Pisces heart out in the warmest water ever while listening to the sound of rain on a metal roof.  I tell ya, I had such a moment of pure bliss! I was in heaven! Afterwards, we went out to lunch at the Cheesecake factory (my favorite), did a little shopping at Pottery Barn (also my favorite), and that evening I had some lovely girlfriend over for drinks.  It really was a special day. But anyway, that was weeks ago, and now everyday I'm waving bye to anothe...

Peanut Butter Popcorn - Christmas Neighbor Gifts

Image
Just 2 more days until Christmas! We're in full blown excitement mode around here. 😁  So I thought I'd sneak away from my hyperactive boys and share a yummy popcorn recipe with you. This is what we passed out to our neighbors this year.  We originally planned to make cookies to pass out to our neighbors, but let's just say they turned out a bit too crunchy and so I had to come up with a new plan. 😜 I basically already had all of the ingredient on hand, I just had to grab some fresh marshmallows at the grocery store, and then I whipped up some Yummy Peanut Butter Popcorn.  Now I made a lot!  I'll share the recipe here in just a bit, but just so you know, I had doubled the recipe here to fill 5 bread bags. I then packaged them up in some really cute black buckets with red and black buffalo check handles that I found at Target (of course) and they even had cute matching tags to go with. My boys and I had a lot of fun putting these together and passing them out to our ...

Personalized Gift Idea

Image
I think personalized gifts can be a little hard to come up with sometimes. You want to  give that special person a gift that is unique, thoughtful, and one of a kind to let them know you care. But that means you may have to think outside of the box a bit to come up with something personalized just for them.   Today I want to share with you this sweet little sign that I made using some personalized wooden letters.  This would be a wonderful gift to give for any occasion. My Husband, Jake and I celebrated our 14 year wedding anniversary during the Summer, and as a gift Jake picked out some wooden letters to give to me because he knew I could create something special with them.  That alone was the sweetest gift ever! E for Emily, J for Jake. (The wooden letters can be found HERE ) I loved these letters and right away I knew that I wanted to decoupage them and create a sign to hang above our bed. So I went to Micheals to get some decorative scrapbook paper.  All I d...
