Denim Sofa Love

Image
I believe I have wanted a denim sofa ever since I saw this image from a Pottery Barn catalog many many years ago. Do you remember it? Even though this is from perhaps almost a decade ago, the look is still modern and cool today. I think denim is such a classic textile that will never go out of style. However, I didn't get to it in time and it's now been discontinued. But resourceful me has another idea up my sleeve.... One day I will have a denim sofa too :) Stay tuned! Emily

Meet Our New Great Dane Puppy & The Cutest Dog Toys Ever!!

Image
If you follow me on Instagram then you might have already seen that we got us a Great Dane puppy! But I feel bad because I have yet to share any pictures of her here on the blog. So Please let me introduce you to the newest member of our family, Stormy! Well actually, that is what Stormy looked like the day we picked her up at 10 weeks old. Today, Stormy is 20 weeks old and now looks like this: She has already grown SO much and continues to grow at rapid speed every day. When my friends at Pavilion  found out that we got a new puppy,  they were so kind as to send Stormy some special new dog toys and accessories from their Pavilion's Pets line.  These sturdy canvas tug of war dog toys are great! Stormy has been caring them around the house with her everywhere she goes. These toys come in lots of different colors and shapes too. They even come in trees and snowman, so you may want to keep that in mind when looking for a gift for your pooch at Christmas time.  And t...

Our Painted Dining Room Table

Image
I recently painted our dining room table and I was debating on even blogging about it, because to me, it seemed like a blog post may not be necessary since I just painted our table the same way I do all of my furniture.  But after asking my followers on Facebook and Instagram to see if anyone was interested in a tutorial, I got a few yes's  And so today this post is for all of those who requested it. Our dining room table once belong to my husband's grandparents. They had it in their home that was on a ranch. This table has four leaves that go in it and can fit up to eight people around it. So it's a really great table, however the finish on it was getting pretty worn down and was in need of a makeover.  I debated on re-staining it or painting it for years, but then I finally decided to paint it white. Now, I rarely ever use chalk paint on any of my furniture projects because I'm really not all that familiar with chalk paint, so I stick with what I know, and that would ...

How to update boring windows using electrical tape

Image
I have a really simple project to share with you today! I got super creative and used electrical tape to update our boring windows. This was definitely a trial and error kind of  project since I was basically making it up as I went along.  So today, not only am I going to share how I did it, but also a few mishaps I faced along the way. Our home has two big windows on the front of it, and from the outside these windows just looked like two big black squares. Ideally, I would like to get some wood blinds or interior window shutters, but either choice would need to be custom made to fit our windows, and both choices would be quite costly as well. And if you know me, or have followed my blog long enough, then you already know that I don't like to spend a lot of money on home improvements, and so I'm constantly thinking outside the box to come up with easy, low cost, solutions for updating our home. That is how I came up the idea for using electrical tape to create the look ...
